I wonder what my LIRR commuter train (see avatar) would do passing under the glass bulbs onto the Piccadilly Line?

Providing a "minor friendly" pub is found, and I smile sweetly enough at the parents, this might well be a possible! Finish exams on Friday, this on the Saturday! ;D

I'll leave Phil/Colin/MRFS42 to do the full details on that one, but U-18's are more than welcome, the pubs used are totally friendly for this purpose, and the bulk of us are CRB checked.

Full details nearer the time, we've had under 18's in the past at meets, again I'll leave that to those that have done meets to comment.

If you want to attend, don't feel that anything should stand in your way as it won't.

As far as under 18's go, we do require a couple of things (details nearer the time in the final fine detail post) - but I would say parents are always welcome. In fact parents have come along in the past and we positively encourage it! ;)

State of Play:

After some helpful input from members and a lot of hard work by the mods, the following seems to be good.

The location is Penderels Oak on High Holborn:
http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/59/
http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/pubs/pub-details.php?PubNumber=506

There are two alternatives for the plan for the day.

Plan one (the preferred one) is for those who want to do one last trip on the Circle to meet at Kings Cross at 1110 (more precise details to follow), do one Outer Rail circle then head down to Penderels Oak to meet any others there at 1230. The Main meet therefore starts at 1230.

Plan two is to meet at Penderels Oak at 1200, have a bevy or two then those who want to can head off round the circle at around 1430, arriving back there later.

Mind you if we do plan one there is nothing stopping (and there is a precedent for) some of the folks to go off for a trip in the afternoon anyway.

So - are there any strong feelings either way?

Yes, we do; specifically the easternmost point of the platform. :)

Headwall - the one in front of the t/op; tailwall the one behind the t/op.

Hi
I will try and attend assuming that I can get a reasonably priced rail ticket (which an initial search suggests I can) I shall be coming from the Midlands on either Virgin or LM into Euston.

I look forward to an enjoyable time and to meeting a few more people off this fine forum.

As mentioned, I live in Paris, but I come quite often to London (Daughter and son in law working there, so I have an always topped up Oyster in my wallet...)
If I'm there that week end, I'll join.

If I come I think I may have to bring my 6yo daughter with me - which means I probably won't be in it for the long haul, but I'll try to show my face for a bit.
