As of 1 October 2009, and approaching two years of closure of the East London Line, there is still a poster on display at the east end of the westbound platform at Ickenham, proclaiming that the ELL is to close from December. Someone has taken the trouble to write '07' on it.
Could this be a record for an out of date poster being displayed in a public area, apart from those uncovered during refurbishment/rebuilsing, etc?

Soon as I saw this I thought Ickenham! Could it possibly be the particular poster display cabinet has somehow become dropped from the poster rota? Ickenham would never be complacent about it otherwise; they're a very progressive station

Up until a year or so ago, there was a poster at White City station, at the top of the stairs leading to the eastbound platforms, which was a timetable from 1990!

Until Bond Street had it's refurbishment a few years ago, the Central Line platforms had a sign which still showed Blake Hall and the Ongar branch!
| "The next train to arrive at platform 5 is the 14.10 from London Charing Cross. This train has been delayed by approximately 237 minutes. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this delay has caused to your journey today." I should think so too!
Platform SIX for the Thameslink CityFlyer service to Bedfud, calling at... Harpenden, Luton *AIRPORT* Parkway, Luton, Leagrave.. |

Covent Garden still proudly proclaims you can get the Piccadilly to Aldwych.

Keeping things on-topic, aren't there some maps at stations on the Circle still advertising the ELL as the "Metropolitan Line East London Section"?
| How much is a cheap day return from Aldwych to Ongar? How about a cheap day return from Shoreditch to Charing Cross-Jubilee? |

There is a poster in one of the subways at Vauxhall station explaining the lack of litterbins on the undergrund that has been up since the removal of the bins from the network all those years ago! It has been there for donkey's years.
Whether it's just been forgotten about or it's considered still relevant (no others of it's type seem to be around elsewhere, though), I really have no idea though...

I think you mean enamel line diagrams, as opposed to maps. and yes there were. I think the Circle Line changes in December will account for most, if not all, of them soon.
This one refers to the "East London Section" or similar at Whitechapel.
