Found this on the Southern website:

Which shows PAYG valid from Balham to Victoria and all intermediate stations. Not sure when its valid from but why only a small part of the network and how much will the fares be on NR.

Hurrah! I guess it might be connected to Balham also being an Underground station, so Oyster being already valid for journey's from balham to victoria (albeit via embankment). The other thing is that Southern's WLL services (which already accepted oyster PAYG) also travel via Balham, so this is a convenient extension for users of that service as a first step.
Also hurrah for the pink blobs on the map there!

The rates i've just seen are: £2.60 peak or £2.00 off peak Oyster
The paper ticket rate is: £3.10

A Southern employee on RailwayScene says it's being delayed (again!) until tomorrow.
Did anyone attempt the route yesterday?
