That's certainly how it looks from the trains I've seen being delivered at Risborough...

How long now until we have more S Stock Trains than A Stock Trains? Both in London and in Service.

It must be around that number. The chances of getting an S Stock now when waiting seems 50/50 of maybe even higher now

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what is the situation with 21001/2 and 21099/100?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what is the situation with 21001/2 and 21099/100? They have both been test trains, 21001/2 formed as 7-cars, 21099/100 as 8-cars. Both have returned to Derby being refitted as production S8s.

I'd hope not, as that is by far one of the most stupid things LU have done

I'd hope not, as that is by far one of the most stupid things LU have done But it's not LU making the decision, it is Bombardier. They are the company responsible for deciding to break up the prototype units and build replacements, rather than refitting the prototypes to match the production units.

Rumour of a rough shunt at Old Dalby between two S Stock trains earlier this week. Anyone heard anything?

Were any parts of the pre-production (IE - the bodywork/interior) used on the final production trains?

So LU dont get a say in wether they'd like to keep the train or not? Probably not, if the contract is to deliver x number of units then it will be up to the manufacturer whether they wish to reuse any prototypes. It will probably be better in the long run not to have modified prototype units running together with the production fleet.
