How successful was this during the Olympics\Paralympics? Are there any calls to continue it a a full 7 day service?

How successful was this during the Olympics\Paralympics? Are there any calls to continue it a a full 7 day service? There are plans that from June 2013, that the Waterloo and City line would see trains run later on Saturdays and run all day on Sundays. These new timetables are also linked to new timetables on the Central Line also due to take place in June 2013. This will mean additional train operator numbers for the extra services.

At the moment it'd be nice if they could just keep all of their trains working during the normal service!

It's amazing how fossilised the Drain timetable has been until recently, with Saturday morning only services long after the City stopped working on Saturday mornings (about 1965, I believe), and very early last trains on other days. A Sunday service is very welcome for those of us struggling to get from Waterloo to Liverpool St.

the Bank/Cannon Street business area is much busier now at weekends. Lots of offices which deal with the rest of the World are staffed 24 hours

In my BR days on the W&C the last train Saturday was around 15:00, weekdays around 22:00.
On Saturdays the drivers were booked on to walk the tunnel to ensure safety equipment was working properly after services had finished.

An internal memo titled "Early discussions begin on new Timetables" 19 September 2012 says that with the introuduction of WTT67 on the Central Line and WTT6 on the W&C that-
"The Waterloo and City line would also extend its services to run later on Saturdays finishing at close of traffic and run all day on Sunday in line with other services on the network."
Looks like we're going to need more TOps at Leytonstone next summer, all the newbies that came up for the Olympics have gone or are going to the Northern Line.
