Well, looks like ebay will in a couple of weeks be earning an handsom commission... If it does it will have been stolen.

someone who has made legitimate inquiries into acquiring through channels is stonewalled or has to pay through the nose.
yet anyone who takes a chance with a screwdriver walks away the booty.
who says crime doesn't pay.another cause for shame.

Or, as happened in this case, one of the people at Eastleigh decided to retain the number for sentimental reasons and put it on the wall in the messroom. BTW if you look closely you can see that they are painted onto the body and not screwed on .
No theft involved and its surely better than it being chewed up?

And it hasn't been hacked out but cut away very neatly.

Would anyone be able to salvage a whistle? Connect it up to a domestic air compressor and there you go!

its impossible to obtain anything through negotiations',people have just been ignored or brushed off.
it would have been better to retain the whole car as it appears some have tried to do,instead its not unreasonable to assume its now a scrap pile.
some were dismissing 5000 as just another, however it cannot be denied that there was interest because of its original build.
with 38 stock still operating across the solent, these well designed trains and from recent videos still look far from broken, just neglected and now scrapped.

I do sincerely hope the plates from inside the cabs are removed before scrapping!
Whatever happened to the plates originally in the saloons like on 67ts.When I looked into 6036 (from the outside) last Autumn, it had a a silver plate with red writing displaying '6036' above the inter-car doors.
