Haha. I've got Virgin Media broadband. Wonder if I go WS and be able to get a connection... But I have no login details...

Stations will come online over June. Whiteboard posters & signage in the ticket office will indicate when a station has gone live. I have a list at work.

TfL have issued a press release www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/24177.aspxwhich has a list of stations including a new one called "Archway Euston" ;D

A surprising number on the list are above ground and out in the open. Obviously Wi-Fi means you're not using your data allowance, but I thought the point was to enable underground locations which currently have no access at all.....
On the plus side though, it's nice to see Tower Hill on list - we'll be able to access the net whilst changing ends (not that I have my phone on in the cab of course!).

As Covent Garden and Leicester Square are both on the list, will it be possible to maintain a WiFi connection while travelling between the two?

trt - Thanks! Too bad I've forgotten both my username and password.
flippyff - Haha, I doubt it! Would be cool though.
Quite happy to see Southfields on the list.

As Covent Garden and Leicester Square are both on the list, will it be possible to maintain a WiFi connection while travelling between the two? If the SSID's are the same: Sure, wouldn't be an issue.

I think its a good move to try and get newspapers off of the underground and move it to an electronic format. Does get a little depressing when you see a sea of a thousand papers all in one carriage....

I note that all the Vic line stations are getting it! Vic line managers need something to do while they're at work. lol

Ah man. I thought Virgin Media customers were going to have free access to it post November.
That's alright I guess, it's probably better if I don't use my phone more than I already do now...

Another note I've read on the whole thing.. It seems connection is lost when a train comes into the platform.. Well that seems a bit rubbish considering the Vic line is basically every 2 min now.. You will just get logged on before your connection is dropped and you hop on your train.

I hear Euston underground went live yesterday at 10am. I hope it's better than the free Cloud upstairs, with that annoying having to type your email address and username every time you want to use it.

I registered and logged on at Kingx X St P Met platforms yesterday eveneing. I am not a VM customer. Process seems fast. When I returned to the station later in the evening, my Iphone logged on automatically. When an S stcok came in, the connection held and I was able to complete my search for a train time at Marylehone as the train started to move out with me on it! I could not find any other stations on my journey that were live.

WiFi is currently on at Victoria. Yup, I used it today on the EB District at Victoria though it was certainly no faster than 3G which I can get from the platform anyway.

Tried it out today on the Victoria line northbound at Victoria, Green Park, Oxford Circus, Warren Street, Euston and King's Cross. By the time your phone has connected at each station you have barely 20 seconds until you are off again and lose the signal. It was fast enough once connected at each station but I still don't really see the point of it and can't see myself using it to be honest.
