For a few days North Ealing platform 2 Eastbound is closed because it's faulty.
Anyone know what caused the problem and will they be able to repair it in service with trains running?

It seems to have reopened now, so the answer to your second question would appear to be "yes".
I've seen it reported as a "faulty platform" and as a "damaged platform", the latter certainly suggests to me something like loose or damaged paving stone or the platform surface needing repair (I can't recall the construction of those platforms off hand).

If the damage is not within a certain distance of the track (2 metres?) then they can repair it whatever the trains are doing.

A nosing stone fell off and onto the eastbound track yesterday at 14.40. It was removed causing only a small delay, but would have required a 30+ minute suspension for it to be fixed. The decision was made to keep running (with a speed restriction in place) with a fix during the night. Haven't followed that up yet or whether it opened normally this morning.

I guess that's what Engineering Hours are for. Yep! But the story doesn't end there. Loose nosing stones either side of the original also resulted in another EB platform closure yesterday, between 12.10 and 13.30. Again, no fix, but staff were assigned to the platform to keep watch .....
