I noticed there is a short curve south of Seven Sisters that leads to South Tottneham station. Whilst it's single track, I wonder if this might allow LO trains on the forthcoming Enfield/ Cheshunt branch to go onto the Gospel Oak/ Barking route? Although thinking about it, trains could only go one way unless they were to reverse into a station.
They could always build over the green area to create East/ South and West/ South routes but they couldn't have a East/ North route.

On a Saturday, the 0531 from Liverpool Street runs via the Tottenham Hale line and via South Tottenham, up the curve and continues all stations via Seven Sisters to Enfield Town. This movement only happens once. I've not done, just know about it

The service runs back to London as a normal all stations service from Enfield to Liverpool Street.

If you observe from the GOBLIN train, you will see that embankments were built to provide multiple connections here, but the lines (save Seven Sisters-S Tottenham) were not laid. Under LO and Goblin electrification, it could provide an Enfield Town or Cheshunt-Stratford or Barking service. Not sure how much demand there'd be. The old pre 1965 Palace Gates-N Woolwich service was not over subscribed. But back then, neither was the Goblin....

The only problem is, the Coppermill Junction is busy as it is and this can be easily observed with Northbound trains from Stratford waiting for a clear path for around 4-5mins. I'm think there would be demand for a Enfield Town/Cheshunt - Stratford service, but it's just about having a clear path for it to use with the GOBLIN service as well as freight traffic. Personally if this service were to run, it'd help me out as I work in Stratford and live in Edmonton (I currently use Angel Road or Tottenham Hale to get there)

The South Tottenham curves are sometimes used as a diversionary route when the line is blocked between Tottenham Hale and Cheshunt.
There used to be a South Tottenham - Tottenham Hale curve, which was used pre-WW1 by Gospel Oak - Tottenham Hale and St. Pancras - Cambridge trains.

The link used to be double track. It was singled after the demise of the Palace Gates-Seven Sisters-Stratford-North Woolwich steam service.

I seem to remember it was singled a lot later than the palace gate service finishing.seem to remember it being double up to the late 70s(I started on the footplate in 74) and remember the work being done in south Tottenham stn, with the bang road move through the platforms if you went s tott to s sisters.
