Hi all just a quick question today.
Did Met services call at Willesden Green I heard a rumour many years ago that Met trains did can anybody confirm this?

According June 1952 Uxbridge Area L T timetable, the 7:10, 7:30 & 7:50 Sunday departures from Baker Street to Uxbridge, called at W.Hampstead, , Kilburn, Willesden Green, Dollis Hill & Neasden

Met trains (not the ones going further out) called at all the intermediate stations until the local service and the Stanmore branch were transferred to the Bakerloo in 1939.

They still call at Willesden Green when the Jubilee alone is closed for engineering work.

Yes, in my days on the Met in 1973 certain early morning and late trains called at Willesden Green using the Met platforms. A couple of trains were booked to run on the Bakerloo(now Jubilee) tracks to serve all stations IIRC. It also kept drivers route knowledge in case of emergencies.

I presume Neasden and Willesden Green can still be served by Met lines in emergencies? How would the decision be made though? I.e. How bad does the Jubilee line need to be for Met line trains to go there and when should and shouldn't they call there during engineering works?

Neasden N/B cannot be used as there is no route available for passengers to leave the platform.

There is signage on the northbound Met platform at Neasden that directs people via the subway to the Jubilee line platforms to exit the station. I assume though that this is in place for an emergency only.

I assume though that this is in place for an emergency only. Yes, you are correct, the northbound at Neasden is an emergency exit only and therefore never used during service disruption. I have only ever stopped and let Passengers off at Neasden soundbound once and that was to terminate and reverse back into the depot during a disruption (I had already departed Wembley Park) |
