May 2017 WTT for the District Line

I note that the WTT page on the tfl site has a slot for the upcoming 21 May version of the District WTT, but that the link is not yet live. Is it still being finalised?

The printed and PDF versions are available for Staff so I would guess very soon on the website.

Yes those first and last lists are far from helpful. I needed the proper District WTT to learn the correct departure sequence from Wimbledon at my commuting time in the mornings, so that I can confidently ignore the sometimes wrong indicator boards in the foyer. It warms the cockles of my heart to hear Mrs H referring to the "124 train" these days after I taught her too!

I wonder if this is a permanent policy change by TfL. Retrograde step, if so

I'm thinking the conversation may've gone something like this:

"hey guys heres the new last train timetables post them to the last train page"
"ok"
*posts to WTT page*

or they decided to remove them, which I doubt because they kept some...

Every 5 minutes towards Earls Court should do you. Change there for anything else.

If you're only interested in a narrow range of times, then you can use the journey planner to work out when direct trains to your destination leave Wimbledon. You can do this if you're interested in a broad range of times too but it's not particularly efficient.

There has been issues with the NR signaller at Wimbledon letting trains go out of turn.

The drivers have to press a button on the end of the platform known as a plunger to let the signaller know they are ready to depart, this may or may not always be in the correct order.

Us drivers will often attempt to depart Wimbledon on time/in the right order even if we've arrived late/out of order - that of course may mean departing in a different order to that we arrived in.

The indicator boards, when they do decide to work, simply assume we're departing in the order we arrived in hence the passenger then see's anomolies. What also dosen't help is the passengers get no indication of the train's iminent departure, unless they're savvy enough to keep an eye on the starting signal so it all adds up to frustration.

Now the people in the office by platform 4 do have the ability to override the departure screens and thus show the correct departure order, but they get their information off the drivers so it really does depend on them being proactive enough to spot an issue and ask the drivers when they arrive what time they're departing........or drivers to pop over and let them know.

We are supposed to have an LU duty manager there during the weekday morning peak who has a list of the departures and is supposed to manage the whole thing but that is very much subject to them being available to staff it.

These are SWT staff I take it (as it's SWT's station). Although the staff do their best I don't think there is much management interest in providing a service for their "competitors'" (their words, not mine) clients.

I have sometimes been sitting on the first indicated departure, and seen one, or occasionally two, trains depart before the one I am on. It adds only a few minutes to my arrival time at the other end when that happens, but even so I find it quite frustrating! Especially since most of the commuters would have been getting on "my" train as the indicated next departure, and it becomes particularly crowded. I had been assuming that the trains would depart in their timetabled sequence if they were at the platforms, hence my keenness to know the train numbers so that I could get on the correct "next" one. But it seems from the discussion that this is not always the case. Enlightening info, thanks all!

I had the misfortune to wait MORE than five minutes for a district line train departure from Wimbledon when I was wrongly advised that an adjacent train was about to leave first I switched trains only to see my original set leave first. Why is there no clear information as to which train is the first out?  The waiting times are almost certainly longer than 5 minutes...I only went to Wimbledon park I'm sure I could have walked it quicker
