... here's one out of my collection. Guess the location, it appears difficult but the clue is that I wasn't breaking any railway bylaws when I took this picture. brj.5000megs.com/tricky.jpg

Now here's a question about this picture that I think I know the answer to, but does anyone else? Why are Moorgate and Kings Cross shown as interchanges in District line green?

Moorgate and Kings Cross.
Some of us try to forget that 'Green' period! - - - and what is under "Tooting Bec" ? Also why is Old Street not shown as Interchange, ie. for people going to ,say Drayton Park , or were they supposed to go to Highgate and change to the High Level (for a long wait) :-)

Because at one time, the Met and District were shown on Underground maps as green. I think the magenta colour of the met came in the late 1940s. edit:blimey, I even get beaten at 4am

The magenta for the Met came first, then for some bizarre reason took the same colour as the District for a few years before going back to its own colour.

The magenta for the Met came first, then for some bizarre reason took the same colour as the District for a few years before going back to its own colour. The reason was that LT had plans to run the SSL as one "line", running services such as Uxbridge-Baker St-Aldgate-Earls Court-Uxbridge. I believe they even tried out some such services, but found (surprise, surprise) that increasing the complexity of services decreased the reliability.
