There are a couple of islands NW of Rhodes that have an isthmus - Simi and Megalon spring to mind. I'll try Megalon.

I've been looking at the picture for 6 weeks - finally spotted a clue - looks like a (yellow/ blue) "Flying Dolphin" ferry right in the middle of the picture !. The Flying Dolphins serve Aegina and the Sporades. Still not sure, but is it Alonnisos ? (else perhaps Skiathos or Skopelos ? )
