I like the sound of it, but it does seem unrealistic to have all London transport services in one game. Maybe focus on Underground lines to start with? You could add other lines/services later on as DLC.

I don't think I'd be able to go, not with the Covid travel restrictions and needing PCR tests and all that

Both stations are much much better than the Jubilee line extension...) In what ways are the NLE stations much much better? Truly curious as I'm not able to visit them for a long while. Same. I don't know when I'll be able to visit them either

From what I have seen on Twitter I thought Battersea Power Station (Station) reminded me of the Jubilee line extension a bit Both stations are much much better than the Jubilee line extension. (Crossrail has a different style and scale) I love the Jubilee line extension, but I have to agree these stations look even better! Geoff Marshall has posted his new video on the NLE

At platform level Nine Elms station made me think of a present-era version of Gants Hill - with ooldes of concrete. Battersea Power Station Station is much grander than most UndergrounD stations - a taste of Crossrail / Elizabeth line? From what I have seen on Twitter I thought Battersea Power Station (Station) reminded me of the Jubilee line extension a bit

Nice! Hope you enjoyed the opening. I wish I could have flown in from 🇮🇪 for it but I had commitments at work I couldn't change. I've been retweeting pics on Twitter though

I wish I could be in London for the opening of the new extension, but Covid has other ideas and I'm back at work now. I'll be there in spirit

I enjoyed the series. My only complaint was that it was too short! They could have easily made a few more episodes

This film was shown on Talking Pictures TV on the weekend! Some good shots of the underground (and London streets in general) from the early 70s. Including guards on the deep tube line - "mind the doors"! I might have considered watching it but my mum hates horror movies! I'll have to look for it online (but not before I go to bed)

You will all be pleased to hear that the track between Tottenham Court Road - Holborn has been replaced. That 'horror' like screaming has now gone! Still sounded fairly noisy this afternoon. Bit early in the day for the ghost 👻 if that's what the noise is

Isn't that the bit near the disused British Museum station? Maybe the screaming was a ghost!

3-2-1 we're back in the room The RMT rep at Loughton has been sacked for failing to attend drugs and alcohol testing although its not that simple. As I understand it he booked on for work as normal, felt unwell part way through his shift and booked off sick. The D&A team were at Loughton that day, he was among the "random" list of those to be tested but rather than going back to the accommodation block he went straight home. There is a rumour that he stopped off at the Loughton Station Supervisors' office to use the toilet and vomited on the floor (sorry). What is odd is that normally the D&A team arrive before you book on, your duty is covered by a spare while you are tested and in my 18 years on trains I have never heard of anyone starting their shift then being tested after they've done part of it. RMT claim that he's been victimised because he's a rep, they held a ballot and on Friday they announced a one day strike at Leytonstone, Loughton, West Ruislip and White City depots with no one booking on between 21:00 Wednesday 5th May 2021 until 20:59 hours on Thursday 6th May 2021. The ballot at Hainault depot did not meet the threshold so they have not been included in the action (45 eligible to vote, only 22 voted so less than 50% already, 12 for strike, 10 against). And yes, its election day. As an outsider I'd make the following observation: You obviously cannot have staff bypassing D&A testing simply by saying they are ill and going home. On the other hand, if someone is feeling seriously unwell (and you can feel extremely ill from quite trivial causes - especially with food poisoning), you can't expect them to concern themselves with getting a D&A test. Surely, in a situation such as this, the obvious, sensible, and fair, thing to do would be to send a doctor the the staff member's home to perform the required test (or certify that s/he is genuinely too ill to take it.) I'm an outsider as well (my job involves scribing for students!). I have to agree with this. I understand that D&A tests are important and people cannot bypass them, however we're in a pandemic and it's better to be safe than sorry just in case it's Covid. A few months back our health officials in Ireland told people who had flu like symptoms to assume it was Covid until they got a test result and to stay home if they were sick. Just my 2 cents

I wouldn't be able to put an exact estimate on it, but I reckon it would be somewhere in the billions. Probably double of what Crossrail has cost

I saw the pics on Twitter and tweeted a bit about it. I'm glad they went with the design from the original concept video. It still looks 'London Underground' but it's more modern and it has aircon for those hot days! Just one thing - I wonder will they have luggage space for people travelling to/from Heathrow when we can all go abroad again? I hope to be in London for the last day of service of the '73 stock, if there is one

There was a station manager called Andy H (think he worked on one of the sub surface lines?) who was in the early 2000s documentary The Tube and was also in the 2012 documentary of the same name. Andy H was a driver and DTM on the District line. He later went to the NOC/NCC as a NOM (can't remember the original name), first at 55 Broadway and latterly in the LUCC at Palestra. He's still there now. That's him. He was in the early 2000s documentary talking to another driver who'd nearly had a one under and was quite shaken by it. I didn't know he was still at LU now! So his role is more office based than operational I guess?

The local doctor's receptionist uses a heat gun detector to the forehead. The Minor Injuries Unit has a camera and monitor but none have the throughput of a railway station. It's probably another idea dreamed up by scientists and civil servants to discredit the government. They have done a brilliant job so far with conflicting views. 250,000 deaths predicted panicked the government, must have ventilators that have now apparently killed more people than saved. I live a mile from one of the first covid clusters at a grammar school children brought back from a sking holiday in Italy. It was dealt with and the area is one of the safest despite thousands of staycationers visiting. And are those heat gun detectors reliable and accurate? I think if CSAs were to use them on passengers there would likely be a bottleneck at busy stations as people would have to stop for a few seconds to have their temperature taken. The Irish govt don't recommend temperature checks as a suitable form of Covid 19 screening as it's not considered reliable. Instead the focus is on distancing, mask wearing and extra hygiene. Schools are back and there's been a number of confirmed cases in them already.

I've always been convinced that they did use 38 stock on the Central line for a while until the 1959/62 stock was built. Just been trying to see if I can find anything and so far I haven't found much. Decided to ask Twitter and see if any of my followers know
EDIT: 4 of my followers have replied and they all said yes they were used on the Central line

Definitely a 1995 stock. I can tell by the carriage windows and of course it says it's going to High Barnet. Been meaning to buy one for ages but I'm broke at the moment!

Here's the link. When the OP said the station was modern, I assumed it must be a TV programme, but the presence of Richard Murdoch and Deryck Guyler more than makes up for the lack of visuals. I assumed it was a TV programme as well. Didn't realise it was a radio one til I clicked the link. Oh well, I'll give it a go anyway. I was once thinking of writing a sitcom set on the modern day Underground.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the new trains will be like and what design they go along with. I hope they use the design from the 2014 concept video. It had that 'classic' LU design but more modern. Will the new Piccadilly line trains have luggage space for people going to/from Heathrow?

I saw it on Twitter earlier. Too early to tell if it'll be useful or not. From what people on Twitter were saying I think the main selling point is that it shows which stations have step free access and also walking/cycling routes for people who are not yet comfortable with using public transport
