It seems that the W&C has been hit by a number of graffiti attacks in the last couple of months. Thursday morning, they were announcing minor delays 'due to vandalism' (presumably trains out of service for cleaning) and my train in the evening had one car almost covered, and the others badly tagged as well.
I know normal policy wouldn't to be let such a train out in service, but with the W&C I guess you have no choice as there are no spares.
What I want to know is how the vandals managed to get to the trains, unless they are doing it while stopped in platforms. The line and depot are all underground, and the depot (being only big enough for 5 trains) should be easy enough for security to monitor.
[Obviously, I don't expect anyone to post details that might be useful for any other potential vandals].
Also, what are they going to do about cleaning the trains? Given they can't even clean the normal level of dirt off properly, I would imagine removing the graffiti is going to be hard work.
My views are my own and do not represent any other individual or organisation.
