For the last two days, there has been a split service operating southbound, and also on Wednesday, northbound. It has not, apart from this morning when there was a late surrender of possession, degraded the service too greatly. All due to points problems at Camden Town, so we are told.
However, throughout the disruption, the train describers have been showing trains on both routes, which then get corrected.
Is this due to automation assuming full routes are operating? I note that the information tends to be correct during weekend engineering works.
By coincidence, I had my first instance of a train's terminus being changed to a further point during one of my journeys yesterday. I boarded a train described "COLINDALE" at Tottenham Court Road. Just after we left Belsize Park, the news came that the train would terminate at Edgware. It made no difference to me, apart from meaning I had to alight quickly, but I had never had that happen before.
