I just had a dream about bus'es running in tube tunnels.(Yeah I know. But that's not the oddest dream I've had believe me) However in this dream the bus was fitted with the old "BESI" identification system and brought to mind the thought that perhaps that technology could be adapted for trains and thus aid signal control rooms. Just an idea.

Not being in to buses (can't stand the things to be honest) would that be a sort of positive identification thing. If so, the implementation on LU is all part of a much wider plan.
We will get it all eventually. Drivers "logging-in" to trains. That will give those in service control a clear picture of who is who and what train they are driving.

Having seen some logs of monitoring applied to a 1992 stock, very little extra is needed.
The new sub-surface stock will be quite similar to C20 stock from Stockholm, where the drivers have to log in, though it hasn't yet got to the level that each driver has an individual logon.
