Am I right in assuming that on a 73, when the CTBC is placed in Emergency an alarm sounds? When I've been leaving the train while the driver has been shutting down I've heard the noise of some sort of alarm while the op has been winding the CTBC round - or is this something else?

That's exactly right - when you go all the way round to EMCY an alarm goes off. The reason you hear it when a driver shuts the cab down is because he has to move the CTBC to EMCY before he can put the selector switch into 'OFF' and move the CTBC to 'Shut Down'.

Yep that's it - you only hear it for a second. Is 73 TS the only stock that has this? I can't recall it on other stock.
