v52gc, I'm afraid that is not satisfactory. A Picc arrives at Hammersmith at 2228. Is it a late runner? Is it going to stop at Turnham Green as it will get there about 2232? It is not clear at all, and if it was, l would not have bothered posting. We all know "it stops there after 2230 and early morning", but pax need to know before the train leaves Hammersmith. The announcement should be made as soon as when the train leaves Barons Court, and clearly platform announced at Hammersmith too. Better a double announcememnt than no announcement.

Castlebar, sorry if I made my post confusing, but what I meant to say was that the announcement in the platform at Hammersmith should be allowed to finish before the doors close. I.e.: an announcement saying what the next station will be should be made at Hammersmith Westbound and Acton Town Eastbound BEFORE departure.
If it isn't then it's down to Human error and not a problem with the system.
As for the "stopping after 2230" it doesn't matter if the train is running late. It's the departure time from the previous station which counts as well as the timetable Eastbound. And if the service is up the wall it's the drivers call when it's just on the limit. Westbound it's timetabled as of 2226 Hammersmith departure. So there is a four minute security window.
In the morning if a train is running late it should stop there (within reason).
I think you're right about there needing to be an announcement at Barons Court as well or between there and Hammersmith. A few drivers make a relevant live PA here though.
Quadruple announcements are made for the Heathrow terminals, even too early in my personal opinion. So LU has nothing against double announcement...

Can't understand why the Jubilee line has not sorted these double messages out. The victoria line CIS changes are made over the weekend closure when the re-signalling takes place.

Specifically listening out for them yesterday, I did hear them. On some occasions the first announcement is so long before the station that it's probably just lost to background noise most of the time. Canary Wharf eastbound I think was the worst offender (as least on the Canning Town to Green Park section)

The double announcements were supposed to have been removed as soon as the last section went into TBTC. Couldn't do it before otherwise there would have been no announcements at all north of Dollis Hill. A few trains were done and then the update was halted. It will restart in about April with other needed DVA changes for the Olympics so there will be double announcements for a while longer I'm afraid.

The extra announcement is because the TMS sends its own message as well as the VOBC causing another to be sent. I have asked about this before and it seems that there is currently no money to make such a change to the TMS.
There is some good news, when the redundant equipment is finally removed from the trains it would generate TMS alarms (the Westinghouse ATO controller springs to mind here) so the TMS software will have to be updated then, it might be possible to do this then.

See above. It is being fixed starting in April and complete by around end of May.
