Dirty Windscreen - This is down to Metronet, it should not have been offered for service. Defective Wiper - Again, this is a Metronet failure and should not have been offered. How on earth is anything going to get better if people just fight over whos responsibility it is to put it right? In the time they spent doing it someone could have come along with a bucket and sponge, and a screwdriver and fixed the problem! (not a personal criticism of you prjb, but one of the system as a whole)

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I'll post a pic of the snagging stickers a little later. But the issues of changed usage of items were things that Bombardier FAILED to tell LU operational staff, including the LSM. Things such as the fact that the CIS is fed from a new fuse in the UNDM, and as such is now separate from the Clean Feed circuits in the leading cab, and will still work, even if the Gassing Switch Relay MCB trips, or the Clean Feed Fuse blows. This affects defect handling for train operators. They also failed to mention that the Compressor Governors are now in the Load Shed circuit, so if the MAs are tripped, 20 secs later there will be no compressors working whether on or off current. We await with interest to find out what other changes were made that will affect us, that we don't know about This is a failing on Metronet's part in not making LU aware. All modifications were signed off by their engineers prior to train one going to Derby. I am going to take the issues you have raised back to both Metronet and BTUK and try to get some firm answers, unfortunately this doesn't help you in daily operations.

(not a personal criticism of you prjb, but one of the system as a whole) Whilst I agree with the sentiment, we now live in a PPP world where contractual obligations and financial consequences take presidence over common sense. I could fill an entire forum with contractual stipulations that would make you weep. At the end of the day I am a simple operator who would like to just 'come in, do it, and go home' but the PPP is a creeping monster I'm afraid. I wasn't trying to pass the buck on this though, merely trying to point out that it was Metronet that failed on this occasion. LU can't even get a cleaner to come and wash a drivers window because it is not in their contract and would breach electricity at work regs. a world gone mad. I didn't take your comments personally and appreciate your honesty, where comments are valid I will always take them on the chin! ;D

I do like one change that has been made - previously, when changing ends and inserting the control key, the DVA re-announced the last thing it did - now it stays silent. So thankyou to whoever sorted that one out - the drivers are very happy now ;D ;D There is however one complaint regarding the DVA. If the station closed button is pressed, nothing happens - though the system will skip the next station. If we go through the F1 route, it will announce the next station is closed - but fails to skip it when the train moves off. This is causing many drivers to just take the PA handset off it's hook - which doesn't benefit anyone...... One last thing - anyone got the code number for the Waterloo & City line closure, and can it be made available to all drivers - I think we'll look more proffesional if the DVA makes the right announcement ;D ;D

They also failed to mention that the Compressor Governors are now in the Load Shed circuit, so if the MAs are tripped, 20 secs later there will be no compressors working whether on or off current. Does that mean that if the MAs trip and won't reset (or the MA fuse blows) then the train will probably become unable to move through lack of air long before the battery goes flat? And so less chance of getting it out of the way before it stalls?

Not necessarily, cos the other end should provide the feed, but in the event of the MCB tripping at the rear, and then the MA failing at the front, or being gapped, then - yes- there is a problem. As I said before, it would be nice if someone had told us first Perhaps if train staff, or stock trainers even, had been given some input into the changes then things may have been better

Oh, yeah. So actually it's unlikely to make a difference. Thanks for that, solidbond - stock has never been my strong point!

Yeah, you can open the M door on a 95 when moving. Was on a cabbing trip heading to Kennington, went past an air shaft or 'bolt hole' near Angel, blooming M door flew open and bashed my knee! I gave it a most refreshing kick. I was on a train that did that, what line and where i couldnt tell you as i cant remember! Certainly catches your attention!
