I can't see any reason at the moment I can't make either aspect of this, so count me in.

Well, I'll be in Paris working on my exams, so I won't be able to make it ! Hope I'll be able to come at least once, maybe next year if I'm accepted at Heriott Watt in Edinburg ;D

Just an update, I'll almost certainly now be able to attend the morning. The afternoon is still dodgy but I'd hope to be there.

Many thanks all who have posted so far...
Those who have indicated that they can made a morning meet, will all be receiving a PM this weekend.
Yes something is planned (everything is above board), however there are strict restrictions, in particular to numbers... and that limit has now been reached.
Members are more than welcome to continue posting here, perhaps wishing to arrange an alternative meet/trip... and if any more spaces become available (to be honest, this is unlikely) a PM will be sent in the order of those who post further below.
Apologies for any disappointment.

So shouldn't your name perhaps be orient al rather than orient eer?? ;D . Definitely occidental! The name alludes to my Japanese connections, besides an ability to read maps beyond the elegant simplicity of the tube map ;D

I've just looked for planned service disruptions on the day of the meet, and the TfL Website says there are no planned line closures for Saturday 15th and that the only station closure is Cannon Street. Is this correct or has the data not been uploaded yet?

Also, I received a PM notification saying I'd a PM about this, but it was gone when I got here...
Accidental?

4 replies received from the PM sent out at lunchtime today so far... so something has happened/been sent... however having checked the outbox, only 10 seem to have been recorded... weird !!! The invitation is being resent to the remainder....

If it helps, I got an e-mail notification of the meet, but nothing in my PM inbox. Most strange!

... and that's it.... numbers have been filled....
Sorry but there is now no more space as numbers are being very strictly controlled...
Members can discuss an alternative meet/trip below if they so wish.

Do the same warnings to Oyster Pay-As-You-Go users as last time apply?

Do the same warnings to Oyster Pay-As-You-Go users as last time apply? Disclaimer: I know nothing; I'm not in The City this weekend. I think it's fair to say that pretty much every DD meet I've been on tends to break Oyster. I remember being at Chesham 30 seconds before departure and realising that I hadn't touched in (the Met' GM had let me in the disabled gate) "run PK, run!"

So, who is going this Saturday? This is going to be my first meet. After the recent thread topics, it'd be nice to have some Christmas cheer!

So, who is going this Saturday? This is going to be my first meet. After the recent thread topics, it'd be nice to have some Christmas cheer! 25 known, many still counting and deciding or trying to persuade the missus . Random guess is there'll be around 35-40 at the Penderel's Oak. And don't worry - general discussion of thread topics is (virtually) banned at meets .
