My tickets arrived this morning; is anyone else on here booked into Car F? Yup! My ticket's yet to arrive, though.

"Wimbleware" is no worse than "Bakerloo"! I agree. They're both terrible Stuart. However, because "Bakerloo" is the official name of a line (and we're stuck with it) doesn't alter the fact that the other pet-name in question sounds (as I've said before) like a Nuns' Outfitters and ignores the truth that it's officially the District Line. I'm not aware of any other such names used for other branches of the various underground lines. :-) Sent from my iPad So what would you call the Bakerloo line instead?

By it's traditional old name of "The Baker Street and Waterloo line" but I suppose you could always call it the "other line", as it does seem to end up being forgotten about in comparison to the other lines Back to the tour, I feel sorry for those in cars B, (depending on the orientation) C/D, and E, going around all day in a C stock trailer, getting bounced all around the compressor. I thought 15 minutes was bad, but those poor souls are going walk away vibrating, especially if the drivers use Westinghouse (which I sort of hope I do - I'm not the one being bounced around by the compressors !)

Surely the compressors are half the fun?

I'm in car F too. The compressors aren't that bad. I remember the A stock - now they really vibrated!

Car D for me! Hoping for it to be a motor, but at the same time the compressors are my earliest memories of the Underground, so I won't be complaining!

since this April railtour is going to be the most prolific railtour ever done in recent years I would like to make a full length video of it, but of course I will be on the train, so im making a request for anyone who would be willing to video the train at certain key locations such as, Rayners Lane westbound Hornchurch westbound Stamford brook eastbound Upminster elm park eastbound (from the bridge opposite the station) elm park westbound platform preston road westbound - and Becontree too at the moment I am only considering for this being a youtube video, whether it could be considered being done as a DVD I don't know, but with my skilful editing I could put together a decent video of the event rather than just 2 minute clips on youtube I haven't really had much of an enthusiastic response to this and there's only a week to go
now I know that there are some video makers who wouldn't mind if I downloaded their video of youtube and used it in mine, but im not like that.
I would like to know who wouldn't mind having their video clips put into 1 big video and whether or not you are willing to copy your original material onto a DVD for me to work from. Again I could just download the video off youtube, but often the resolution is so low (240/360) - oh and talking of which, no camera phones yes I know they are getting better, but phones are still not up to the quality of proper video cameras yet.

So what would you call the Bakerloo line instead? Leave it-it's been there since 1906 I was been slightly sarcastic as I love the 'Bakerloo' name! Coined by the Evening Standard!

My sidelines plan based on my research:
C Stock Explorer pass Baker Street EB c0913 (0909–0914) Use WB Platform Baker Street – Amersham (ahead of C Stock) d0935 a1026 Metropolitan line option d1012 a1047 Chiltern option C Stock Explorer arrives Amersham WB 1054 Use Footbridge Amersham – Rayners Lane (ahead of C Stock) d1056 a1126 Chiltern/Metropolitan line via Harrow Caution: Irregular service on this route. C Stock Explorer pass Rayners Lane WB c1155 (1149–1157) Use EB Platform Rayners Lane – Alperton (ahead of C Stock) d1158 a1210 first d1209½ a1220 d1219½ a1230 last C Stock Explorer pass Alperton SB c1237 (1230–1240) Use NB Platform Alperton – Acton Town (behind C Stock) d1240 a1249 Piccadilly line then interchange only Acton Town – Northfields (ahead of C Stock) d1249 a1253 first d1253 a1257 d1259 a1303 last C Stock Explorer arrives Northfields WB1 1304½ Use EB3 Platform Northfields – Upminster (ahead of C Stock) d1312 a1423 first d1401 a1512 last Note: For optional break at Earl’s Court for District C Stock, last train ahead of C Stock Explorer d1440 C Stock Explorer arrives Upminster 5. 1537 Use 3. Platform One photo between Upminster and Goldhawk Road
For some reason the journey planner isn't showing Piccadilly Services between Uxbridge and South Harrow. I was contemplating getting a cab in the Rayners Lane - Alperton leg if it had not been for WTT 51 (which I think is the current version).

That's an interesting plan, antje, I have something similar in mind, though I think either Park Royal or North Ealing over Alperton. Thanks for sharing it here.

If you like, I can PM you my mobile number so we can make last-minute modifications as the train progresses. I will be testing the Alperton views tonight.

Wonder if the owner of the model shop at Northfields is aware that he's going to have a trainload of rail enthusiasts deposited on his doorstep for an hour, and might be worth his while having a limited Sunday opening :-)

Yes, everyone have an enjoyable day. The official DD enquiry into who fouled up with the custard can wait until another day....

The bridge over Northfields station is closed with fire engines in attendance. I don't know why. But we were driving past and got diverted. I hope it won't affect the railtour.

Hmm, that's a shame. I wonder what 5555 has been doing in Hammersmith depot since it last ventured out?
