Apparently TfL have produced audio guides for tourists on the DLR. moononastick.com/blog/2014/03/dlr-audio-guides/Based on that review, with a little bit of ironing out and better advertising this could be a really good thing. What a pitty they didn't do it for the Olympics.

I remember, probably over 15 years ago, there being occasional DLR services where a tour guide gave a similar thing on the then Bank - Island Gardens route. I can't remember if it continued once the extension to Lewisham was opened, but it certainly was happening when the line was temporarily cut back to Crossharbour.

Downloaded the Bank to Woolwich Arsenal and followed along using Google. Not the same as being there in person but a surprising amount of information available visually. Great way for someone half the world away to update on the DLR. See the DLR page at www.dlrlondon.co.uk/audioguide.aspx
