Now do I hold on and wait to see if my services are required for stewarding any of these, or do I get tickets straight away? Decisions, decisions!

I'm not advocating ticket touting, but I don't imagine you'd have any difficulty in finding a home for unwanted tickets at face value.
Steam specials yes, but maybe I'm missing the point on the C stock - what's the interest in a farewell tour when the things are still running daily on the Wimbleware?

Because in about a week or two they won't be running on the district line at all. Indeed there are 2 going for scrap shortly!

Have they sorted out the fire prevention properly, now?
The last time I paid for tickets for an underground steam trip we turned up only to be told that they had had to abandon the steam loco as it kept setting fire to the trackside!
So we ended up being hauled along in ex BR coaches behind an electric loco.

Now do I hold on and wait to see if my services are required for stewarding any of these, or do I get tickets straight away? Decisions, decisions! Steward recruiting for the steam runs has been completed, but there is a chance if someone drops out. The C stock has more than likely also been sorted, but I have not heard anything.

Saw this in my local rag tonight. I think I'll take a drive over there Saturday. Haven't been there for about 30 years. They have got a bit more track down now so maybe get a descent run.

The C-Stock tour on the 29th June - do we have any more timings / routing apart from the Moorgate departure time yet?

I think the prices are astronomical and highly exorbitant for these journeys.

I think the prices are astronomical and highly exorbitant for these journeys. I agree but I suspect all the tickets will be fully sold out at these prices. If the demand is there to charge these high prices, then LTM should. Even with the high prices I suspect the 'profit' LTM makes would be quite small.

Agreed. Out of interest, do the Bluebell take a percentage to cover the loan of the Ashbury set?

Even with the high prices I suspect the 'profit' LTM makes would be quite small. What little profit might be made, as far as I know all is fed back to maintain the stock so that future specials can be run... so such events are self funding with no money coming from everyday passengers...

Rather than debating ticket prices (if you want to start a new thread feel free) let's keep on the topic with this one shall we?

I was at Barons Court this morning and saw the steam-hauled train pass by about 10 minutes late. I've posted a few shots on facebook. It was a better experience than seeing the steam train rush through Bayswater last year. I hope those on a trip enjoy it.

Is there supposed to be sound on this video? If so, it's not working! Great video otherwise.

You need the sound right up for the full effect.

If it is just the locomotives then I'd bring in the A Stock.

If it is just the locomotives then I'd bring in the A Stock. The A stock is being prepared for RAT duties and as such is unavailable. The '38 stock has recently been lifted at Ealing Common for investigatory works, and is also unavailable. Sarah Siddons is also unavailable, although I am not entirely sure of the reason why. You could theoretically have a 20 on each end, but I doubt that would interest anyone.

Shame they can't use the 'other' A stock, being the one not out on RAT duties this year.

Clearly they need more heritage stock!
Or hire in something unusual, like the Hastings DEMU.
Or... off topic... use normal stock for an unusual moves railtour. Actually for that matter, has the S stock done an introduction tour yet?
