Isn't that one done by the drive (the drive has to press a button)? Yes, I'm pretty sure that's a manual DVA announcement on request by the driver!

Yeah, I hate the Jubilee DVA. The awful intonation of the afore mentioned being one of the main factors; the 02 sounding very off, and with the 'Change for London Overground' mentions, it's said in such a way that you expect it to be followed by a 'Services to X'. The way it is at the moment makes it sound like it's just been cut dead. It's awful. The Willesden & Neasden pronunciations are granted amusing as a first and second time tourist, but once a regular traveller, the novelty soon wares off! It's just plain annoying. The male announcements are just unkind! The volume feels higher and you're effectively been shouted at rather scornfully. I don't like them anyhow! Going off on a tangent, but there's much I don't like about the Jubilee line; the horrible array of colours within the cars and just the sheer awfulness of them, the whirring sound the train makes each time upon moving from still (music for some, but it just hurts my ears!), the noise of rushing through the tunnels, particularly on the extension (you really have to SHOUT just to have a conversation with the person next to you). It's just. Eugh. Not my favourite line by a long shot. I'm just glad it's not my local! I don't think I could cope...! Well, like all London Underground lines the Jubilee line has it's pros and cons. I believe that each tube line is unique for some reason or other. A quality a tube line does not have, another does have. Can you think of any positives about the Jubilee line?

I'm not a fan of DVAs at all. They remind me of the white noise generator on my old Mini Moog. I've used transport systems all over this country and abroad and have never needed any more than a fold up map to get around. My late Nan who was classified as blind was equally adept and regularly traversed the network alone well into her 80s when DVAs were just a twinkle in a designer's eye. She just asked people if she got into difficulty. The only travelling mistakes I've made have been the result of being drunk and resulted in trips between Epping and West Ruislip and back, as well as one to Crystal Palace instead of Stratford, the DVAs warbling pointlessly as I snored my head off. I do however like the noise the Jubilee Line trains make, which is sadly cancelled out by the appearance of the front of the trains, which remind me of Marvin The Paranoid Android (not the stupid film one, but the TV version). This goes for the Central, W&C and Northern Line trains as well....all ugly as sin. 1972, 1973, 2009 and S all look great as far as I'm concerned. D stock are a bit too much like boxes but not bad enough looking to elicit any emotion in me! If anyone else wants something crossing off the tube map, let me know and I'll sort it for you.

Yeah, I don't like those either...! Ha. I'm sure the Jubilee line does have it's plus points, for one I like how fresh it can be at 6am! I just felt like having a bit of a rant; my friends couldn't care in the slightest! I do like that each line has it's uniqueness and personality. In fact, the introduction of S-Stock does make me sad to a degree in that the Sub Surface lines are loosing their identity, particularly in relation to their interior colours. The Hammersmith&City line is cool to go. It has a stupid long name and with the Circle pretty much operates as one line with two branches. Should be combined and rebranded the CityCircle! There's a thought... Apologies, way off topic now. I do think there's certain things where consistency should remain across all lines though, and I think the DVA's is one of them!

I've had Jubilee Line trains in the last couple of months where: 1. There was an extra gap in the announcements, such as "This station is..... Southwark" and "The next station is..... London Bridge". 2. No Emirates Airline mentioned at North Greenwich (so just "Exit here for the o2"). 3. No Emirates Airline or o2 mentioned at North Greenwich.
This is an addition to the missing "This station is" announcements which seem to happen the most at Bermondsey, Canada Water, and West Ham.
