Does anyone know if during the move to 36tph in WTT37 (or later, is the resolution of the timetable to remain at 15 second intervals, or will it change to 10 second intervals. I would have thought that to run a 36tph/100sec headway service the latter would be more sensible?

So if 36tph is to be introduced with WTT39 in April 2016 what will be different in WTT37?
what track work is required at Wathamstow, will anything major have to be done to turn around 36tph there more so than Brixton. Thanks

WTT37 "Maximising benefits of upgrade, Further off-peak enhancement to 26.6tph There will be a 23-day blockade in August 2015 to support track works at Walthamstow Central and a 52-hour closure to the line in early 2016 to carry out works to Northumberland Park Depot which will result in trains being able to get into service more quickly".
No details more at this stage.

Thanks The work at Walthamstow would be replacement of the scissors crossover. The need to replace this crossover has been a headache for some time, such that it has been put off as far as possible. If I recall correctly it has had a 'temporary' speed restriction on it for many years now. A faster run in/run out would enable an increase in service. I know an aspiration for the Victoria Line is for as many trains as possible to run through to Walthamstow. Good news for Walthamstow, but it will upset a few from the likes of Finsbury Park who know that they stand much more chance of a seat if they wait for a Seven Sisters starter!

IIRC the proposal to blockade Walthamstow was supposed to have been done a couple of years ago but then disappeared from the engineering works look ahead. It's going to be some operation to replace the northern section for 23 days with some form of bus service. I assume TfL will also try to maximise capacity on what will be the Overground service into Liverpool Street to offer some form of alternative service.

It should be noted that under the old-signalling/trains, and before the speed restriction came into effect, that the Walthamstow crossover had an approx. 6 second faster platform re-occupatiin time compared to Brixton (90s vs 96s).

TfL have now released a press release about the blockade at Walthamstow. Sets out some of the details of the replacement bus services which look to be very comprehensive and stretching far and wide.

What makes it difficult for the current Walthamstow crossover to attain 36 tph? Is it because of the age or the crossover needs to be longer?
