Saw a 09 badly graffitied at NPK! Was quite sad to see this! I'm sure other forum members would be equally upset at such a thing! No one likes seeing that!

The train was in Brixton siding which as may be aware is a couple of train lengths walk off the south end of Brixton platforms. There is a way into the siding which doesn't involve going through the station for emergency access/exit and that is meant to be alarmed!

i thought station was closed and secured after service was ended and enginners would be around in area Yes correct. However, I recently came across an 'urban explorer' site where people had clearly just walked into stations after close of traffic, and then gone off down the tunnels. Quite shocking really that people can just walk into a station and go walking off down the tracks - especially as in some cases they clearly did it with the traction current live, which during engineering hours generally means it is being kept on to allow an engineers train to run on that section. It's amazing how stupid some people can be just in pursuit of some photographs or to graffiti a train.

I suppose it's ok if you know what you are doing.

And if the culprit was fortunate enough to be electrocuted, no doubt the HSE would be all over LU

I suppose it's ok if you know what you are doing. That's not really the right attitude to be honest. It's ok if you are fully trained, competent, are in communication with the relevant persons (line controller, traction current controller), and operating with appropriate levels of protection (PPE/SCD/look-out). Whilst you might get out unharmed if you have a level of knowledge, there are still a thousand things that you don't know that could very quickly ruin several peoples lives! NB - Not a dig at you personally, but when I read your post it came across in a tone that suggested trespass was ok, if you know what you are doing - which is obviously wrong, hence rant)

Quick to place blame but never ask how the person came in be in the situation to begin with.
As per the train, they are vinyl covered now to ease removal?

It came off a lot quicker than it would have done if the train had just been painted. Virtually the whole train was done.

My post "suppose ok if you know what you are doing" was not meant to condone graffiti etc: but purely regarding walking on live tracks.

Why is this thread even here giving this activity free publicity?

Why is this thread even here giving this activity free publicity? If you read the entire thread, you will see it's not doing what you suggest, just informing members what happened and has opened an interesting debate on access to tracks and the dangers

Are there still inspection pits in the SB sdg at Brixton & 22 sdg at Victoria?Remember looking for a missing leg from a one under at Brixton(incident wasn't at Brixton, they just stabled the train there) & jamming closed a runback relay on a dud in 22 sdg Victoria. Can also remember when the Brixton extension first opened they used to stable a train off peak in the NB sdg(T237)

Perhaps it only had one leg to start with.

I think questions needs to be asked about the security into Brixton sidings - it is not the first time they have been accessed by either urban explorers or vandals.
