At barking sometimes the doors do not open on the s stock and when they do finally open the front set of doors do not open requiring you to move down the train.

At barking sometimes the doors do not open on the s stock and when they do finally open the front set of doors do not open requiring you to move down the train. This doesn't just happen at Barking. For the doors to be opened normally, the train must be berthed in the platform correctly, thus picking up a signal to allow the doors to open. For whatever reason, this occasionally fails to happen, and the doors have to be opened in some form of "safe" mode. Because there are stations with short platforms on the line and the train cannot be sure where it is, the front and rear carriages stay closed, just in case the train is at a station with the shorter platforms.

Unfortunately Barking WB is one example, Earl's Court EB Tower Hill WB being others, where the S Stock stopping mark is in the rear of the normal D Stock mark, so drivers occasionally stop on the wrong mark, causing the door problem mentioned.
