I started collating scenes for a film about the A stock when I realised that I had so much footage that it would be better as several films.
So, below is a simple ride... it starts at Chesham and ends at Finchley Road. There are no intermediate station stops. Edited highlights, about 8:38 minutes in total.
Most of the footage was filmed inside A stock trains (both DM and T) but there is one view from a 1996 tube stock Jubilee Line train.
If all goes to plan the film showing different liveries, seating configurations, the trains before refurbishment etc will come mid-month (March 2017). Collating the scenes and editing it all together will take 'many hours'.
Hearing that Click-Click-Click noise of the motor control contactors brings those memories back - they sounded exactly the same as on 1959 and 1962 stock, built around the same time as the A60/62 stock!
A film about the former London Transport / London Underground Metropolitan Line A stock trains which were introduced in the early 1960's and withdrawn in 2012.
The trains are seen (both outside and inside) in original format, after refurbishment for one person operation, with three different styles of refurbishment and in their final format.
Mostly this film comprises S-VHS and HD video but it also includes other formats as well as still images and a little silent super 8 cine film from the days before I had a camcorder. Footage seen dates from the late 1970's to 2012.
Apologies, one of the longest films which I've ever made. But there was a lot to cram in.
