Does anyone know why there was a really long queue from the passageway from the sub-surface and Victoria lines to the gateline in the North ticket hall, and only seemingly two gates working, at about 9:30 last Thursday, 15th June? I have passed through Kings Cross about this time several times a week so far during the escalator works, but never encountered such a long queue before.
The main reason I ask is that if there is another, as yet unresolved issue, in addition to the escalator works, then I shall re-route so as to avoid interchanging at Kings Cross (not that that would be particularly ideal)

The main reason I ask is that if there is another, as yet unresolved issue, in addition to the escalator works, then I shall re-route so as to avoid interchanging at Kings Cross (not that that would be particularly ideal) All it has to be is problems on any one of the deep lines and entry has to start being restricted at busy times. Despite all the works, KX still has the same underlying issue that one finds at places like Holborn - you have a problem on one line where a platform is filling up, but the interchange traffic keeps on coming, therefore the first thing to do is start reducing the gates down, then close completely to incoming, then start non-stopping selected trains on selected lines, then finally close the place altogether. Too many people...

There was an incident that morning I think. Northern Line. Tooting? Passenger on track I seem to recall.
