Is A the side entrance of the GNP&BR Strand station (known as Aldwych from quite early on until it closed).

That would suggest to my simplistic brain that D would be a station whose name begins with D such as Drayton Park - It doesn't look like Debden or Dollis Hill which I think are the only other tube stations beginning with D.

That would suggest to my simplistic brain that D would be a station whose name begins with D such as Drayton Park - It doesn't look like Debden or Dollis Hill which I think are the only other tube stations beginning with D. Thank you. Yes, look at the centre rail - is isn't on chairs. So Drayton Park +1. The next in the set must be Essex Road - a former London Transport station beginning with E. How much further down the alphabet can we get? F? G? … Y would be York Road, but we may not have a station for every letter of the alphabet.

You got the right answer, but you may wish to apologise to the residents of Dagenham! Well, I would but for the fact that the two Dagenham stations are Surface gauge rather than Tube gauge stations. But of course I will happily apologise to those residents of Dagenham who understand the difference. There again, the Gt Northern & City stations are not really tube gauge either [apart from the bit borrowed by the Victoria Line] - Therefore gracious apologies to all the residents of Dagenham!
