Does anyone know which stations have platforms too short to fit a 9-car train? Maryland and Forest Gate are initial guesses.

At Paddington some doors in the middle of the train can be locked out because of the curve in the platform.

Is there a reason why all trains seem to have more doors cut out than needed as some are within the platform? I noticed this at Maryland, Forest Gate and Manor Park. I thought at first that only full carriages could be cut out but this isn't the case at Forest Gate as the front door of carriage 8 still opens and if my memory serves me correct this whole carriage is within the platform (or it may just be one more set of doors).

That’s most likely down to the stopping tolerances that come with manual driving and the need to cater for stopping short or over the prescribed point by a margin of error. I know there is a form of Correct Side Door Enable (CSDE) due to be commissioned on both halves of TFL Rail. I don’t know how that system operates and weather it is ‘smart’ enough to see which doors can safely open in relation to the platform and stopping mark.

Maryland is very tight because of bridges at both ends. There are enclosures at the front end of the platforms for the monitors used by the older trains. These would require the doors to isolated because of restricted width. The enclosures could be removed once all trains are 345s.
