They look to be very fine models. I don't recall that any manufacturer has ever produced GWR coaches in the crimson livery that was carried between 1912 and 1922 before this. Hattons and no doubt the other "big boys" will be offering them for £51. The first examples are promised for Q3/4 2022.

Whilst I am both astonished* and delighted with this news it also creates a dilemma for me - I was going to get some Dreadnaughts for my Met loco (in Met livery) to haul. If possible I'd have a Pullman in that rake too - oh and add power collection shoes to the Dreadnaughts. But now the Dreadnaughts will have some competition - maybe I need another Met Loco? Perhaps in London Transport livery with destinations of Aldgate at one end and Uxbridge Vine Street at the other end!!! re: the livery options, which of the three options were actually used when the coaches were travelling over Met / LT tracks? I ask because ideally I'd want the iconic Chocolate & Cream but am concerned that it might not be correct. *Astonished because I never ever expected this to happen in the rtr (ready to run) market. I was resigned to getting the Shapeways 3D printed versions. I may still have to do this... At the same time I have some regrets because I would have been happier with the triple carriage articulated versions. I suppose though this would have less beneficial commercially as some people will buy one or two but not want a triple carriage formation. Please Mr. Dapol, can you also make the LTSR Southend Corridor Express trains. Many Thanks, Simon They look to be very fine models. Until the Railmotor at the Didcot Railway Centre was recreated I cannot recall ever having seen the Crimson Lake livery - I always thought of Chocolate & Cream for the GWR. However, the refurbished GWR Mainline & City coach at the Didcot Railway Centre is also in Crimson Lake livery. I've even travelled on it on one of their demonstration lines.

The board simply read "G.W. MAIN LINE".

I’m surprised these have been announced by Dapol. They are pretty niche models!

I’m surprised these have been announced by Dapol. They are pretty niche models! I think Dapol are hoping these will increase sales of the steam locos which often hauled them. Maybe their plan will work, and maybe these coaches will lead to more sales of the Met Rly locos!

According to the Dapol ad in the latest Hornby Magazine, these are 'shipping soon'.
