Can someone tell me why the 72ts MK1 had rubber coatings fit to the doors when converted from the Jubilee to the Bakerloo line? edit: I think it is the Jubilee don't quote me on that tho.

Are you referring to the door window rubbers?
All 1972mk1s from the Northern Line on the Bakerloo Line had new doors fitted which were to the similar design as Mk2 doors which are top hung with top rollers supporting the doors
The old doors as were 1967 stock on the Victoria line had bottom door tracks and rollers at the bottom of the doors which were more problematic and cause more service failures.
Also to simplify maintenance across the Bakerloo lines fleet

Just the new design of the door as would have a lip for the rubber window rubber extrusion to be retained
The 72 stocks had windows bonded from the inside with a bonding compound which was old design
The design of the old doors were not able to be modified to fit window rubbers.

I wonder why these doors were not fitted to the 1967 Stock in their dying days, if the top hung design was more reliable... their impending demise might have meant that the cost of replacing all the doors was not justified...

I expect that was exactly the reason, especially when if you work out the number of doors to be treated it would be about 3784 doors!
A lot of the work was done in conjunction with the chassis strengthening works to the Bakerloo fleet including replacing the old Reavell compressors with spare Westinghouse ones on the Mark 1 cars.
