I was trying to think of anywhere that would have four tracks of Southern third rail but would still have a TfL association. It seems to me that Location A ought to be somewhere around Richmond to Kew Bridge or possibly on the Wimbledon branch. In the absence of any fourth rail, I would think that it is London Overground lines between Willesden and Clapham Junction. Location C looks like one we have seen before - possibly GE main line between Bethnal Green and London Fields.

I think D might be between Langley and Slough but I'm really not sure.

A look on Carto Metro reveals that there is one thing in common between Watford High St to Watford Junction and Langley to Slough. The images are between two stations, with one of the stations having a single-track branch line. Eg. Watford Junction has the Abbey line, Slough has the line to Windsor & Eton Central.
Unfortunately, I have no idea where A and B are. But if the above is correct, there are the areas that fit the link (I may be missing some): Chorleywood - Chalfont & Latimer (Met to Chesham) East Finchley - Finchley Central (Northern to Mill Hill E) Chadwell Heath - Romford (Overground Romford-Upminster) Upminster Bridge - Upminster (c2c towards Grays) Woodside - Arena (Tram to Elmers End)

The link is related to one station having something the other does not, but that something is not branch lines and none of your suggested locations are either A or B.
