I took this photo a few moments ago: It shows 20 & 21 Roads (lifting shop), which have been extended to house a Wheel Lathe. Does anyone know if it's finished yet? Also, are there any othe lathes on the system? Also, the new TRT can be seen just behind the 73T/S. It's been on juice for a while now. Apart from the lack of corporate livery (which I'm guessing will be applied at some point), has it actually been fitted out with all the TRT-related stuff or has it just been put back to working order? Also, are there any othe lathes on the system? Presumably the lathe that was in No1 road has been, or will be removed? (It is/was about halfway along inside the shed.)

I'm not sure TBH. No1 road was nearly always occupied by units undergoing long term Mods when I was there, so I couldn't really see much.

As the new TRT is to be part of the service fleet is there a possibilty that it will be painted in the 'Canary' Livery?

Is this new TRT to replace the current 1960 tube stock, or additional?

It's a replacement. The Cravens is to either be broken up or donated/sold/handed off to CHTL, either to be refurbished into a second passenger train or to become their Christmas tree. MetApp or nutterathome would know best.

There is also one at Upminster (52 road), and IIRC one at Neasden.

The thing on 52 road at Upminster is a Wheel Monitoring equipment shed ;D It checks the profiles of the wheels, records them on computer, and when the train goes into the new lathe, which then knows exactly what adjustments need to be made to the wheels.

I knew what I meant - but like the stock training, you put it across so much better!! ;D ;D
