Okay, dont want to upset anyone one but my laide and i have a question or two.
1. Is that blue tarp covered train at the station end of Northfields Depot the one that was involved in the July 7 Bombings?
2. If so what are they going to do with it? I think it should be placed on display somewhere to remind people of what occured and to make people think about what occurs in the wider world and not in the small bubble.

It is indeed part of the unit which was bombed at Russell Square. I'm not sure what they're planning to do with it, although personally I don't think putting it on display in a public location would be remotely beneficial. Most people want to forget about the events of that day.

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

1. I have made official enquiries about this and have been informed that it is most definately NOT the July 7th carraiges. If you look at it very carefully you will see that it is not passenger carraiges at all, it has large grills/intakes on the side. I believe it is part of the old tunnel cleaning train. 2. LU, for obvious reasons, will not discuss the subject of the July 7th carraiges. Public display of these units is most definately out of the question.
I don't think that we want to forget the events of 7/7 at all, but we are sensitive to the feelings and needs of the victims, their families, and all our customers. We, as a company, will never forget what occured that day. It's 'ok' to talk about it though and you (edb) shouldn't fear upsetting people, our staff acted beyond the call of their duties that day and LU have recognised this by awarding 186 medals to those directly involved in the events. This is the first time London Transport have done this since the Second World War. We will always be saddened by what occured but are proud of the way our colleagues reacted.

7/7 really hit me, even though I was away from the scene, I was still very upset. I will never forget the day.

It hit us all mate, but I am sure you'll agree that there is no point in not talking openly about it. As part of that I utilised the counselling service and encouraged everyone else to do the same. I'm past all that bravado.

I think a lot of staff have assumed that it was the 7/7 unit. I did, which is why I enquired as I thought it was inappropriate to leave it stabled there if it was, covered or not.

Same as what I did. Still get people saying we should have done more. Makes my blood boil.... I went for one session just to say that I had been. There is a culture amongst DMT's of being very macho about things like one unders etc. To a degree I have been like that in the past and can see some benefit in that approach. You need to be a little hardened about these things in order to operate properly and get the job done. It was different this time and I wanted to be able to say that I had gone along and spoken to someone. A lot of drivers and station staff did but I know initially that there was less take up by management. I think beside the macho thing, as managers we were busy working on the recovery operation. I hope by going I opened the door for other managers who may have been in two minds. There's no point in getting angry about the minority of customers who think we didn't do enough. Firstly they are a minority and secondly we know that everyone did what they could and then some.
