When was the trailing crossover at Sudbury Town decommissioned?
Have there ever been any calls for it to be reinstated, to improve reliability on the Uxbridge branch of the Picc?

Might be useful I suppose, but most problems on the Uxbridge branch originate on the South Harrow-Uxbridge section.

I remember a discussion amongst colleagues in LURS, including with Brian Hardy, about the removak of the #-over at North Ealing, which was felt was not a good thing to do. Would have been handy for the green line trains as well as a general alternative to South Harrow.

Presumably was a cost-cutting measure, or deemed surplus to requirements?

Yeah the blue line is disrupted at Acton, but its usually the green one's fault! ;D

I think it would be useful to have one at North Ealing or Park Royal to reverse District services that have accepted a wrong route at Hanger Lane Junction.

When was the trailing crossover at Sudbury Town decommissioned? The crossover was at Sudbury Hill. It was de-commissioned 4 Jun 1966. N Ealing was OOS after 19th June 1971. Both were operated by ground frames and there was hardly ever anyone at either station who was trained to operate them.

Ah, you're right - it was indeed at Sudbury Hill.
Still, the thread title is not wrong, as Sudbury Town is one of the major stations on the line and would benefit from a crossover in times of disruption.
Do you recall how the ground frame was released?

Yeah the blue line is disrupted at Acton, but its usually the green one's fault! ;D You can't expect to get no reply on a District line forum ;D ;D We have a train every 7-10 minutes though Acton each way. You lot have the full service going through there..........so it's more likely the blue line's fault than ours ;D ;D ;D

Do you recall how the ground frame was released? It would normally be a local lock and key. IIRC, the moves were only handsignalled but I can't remember the details.
