OK - here's a request for someone to go and photograph the big subway from the northbound Northern Line platform at Borough, along with the southbound platform and lift landings. I would be very gratefull if someone would do this and post the pictures here, given the interesting history provided for us by CSLR in this thread.I'd just like to see how it looks now, as my pics were taken in 1990. Thank you very much, David. Mods: please feel free to move this to a more suitable board

Surely one of our London based photographers might be interested?

If not tomorrow, you'll have to wait until the weekend, but I'll be sure to get a few shots for you this week.

If time isn't critical I could get some in a couple of weeks. But my photography skills aren't the best and if v3.1 can do them quicker and to a much superior quality then no probs.

I was without a tripod (but then again, I never use a tripod underground because I never see the need to). Also pressed for time so everything was a bit rushed. Here's one for starters. I'll stick some more pictures up later (although they're not that great), but yes, later, as I am kind of busy sorting out things. >.< You can get the larger pano here - static.flickr.com/51/127569743_9f9484b15b_o.jpg. 2pointsomethingoranotherMB... Sorry... really sorry for the lame factor. I promise to come back later with actual photographs. Yeesh.

Thanks very much, V3.1, the station looks much more 'user friendly'. Or do I just mean clean?
Looking forward to the rest of the pics.

Thanks again for those pics. As I said earlier, it looks as though the station has been improved considerably, it was certainly needed.

It's so very clean it's almost frightning. When you come out of the lifts it's just all... sterile and white. My only qualm is the lighting on the platforms which seem to be fairly dim compared to other refurbished stations. Still, it all makes an improvement from the paint peeling off the walls!

Many thanks for the photos v3.1. A very good reference. I have been viewing them for some time this evening.

If, V3.1. those are your idea of "bad shots" then I'm interested to see what you consider "good". There's excellent tonal range and the capture the feel of the location.
To me they're very decent record shots. Not arty farty but worthy of "photograph" rather than "snapshot".
