Train from Mill Hill East today [1540] arrived at platform 3, instead of 1, detrained and went into the south siding. Driver commented it was the first time he had been in the siding for years.
How regularly is the siding used?
Only one other time have I seen a train go into it. That was due to engineering works. Any SCHEDULED trains booked to enter it?

I would look at wtt 49 Colin, but wanted to spare myself the pleasure of looking at every train, that would get me way too excited!

Train 102 (00.27 ex Mill Hill East), reverses via Finchley Central south siding from 00.34 to 00.43. This is on the MFs timetable.
And I'd imagine that if there was slight late running, they'd abandon that move, and just reverse via platform 1 - so as to remove the time needed to detrain and reverse via siding.
