Have noticed the last 4-6 weeks that the 95s are filthy externally. Is the washer at Golders/Morden defective? If it carries on, they will look like the 92ts! ;D

The 95ts have ben grubby for months now.
Having to do more than my fair share of reversing trains means that my clean white shirt is often black. I now wear the suit jacket & wear latex gloves when needed - although the trains are getting a bit cleaner. (although I have a big mark on the shirt when I leaned over to press the porters this evening!)
A mate who is a DMT has told me that they are saving water because of the drought order, but he went very quiet when I reminded him that dirty 95ts have been around longer than the drought order.
AFAIK Morden is the only wash road on the Northern - but could be wrong.

Is Morden part of East Surrey water Co? If it is they have a ban on using water for washing vehicles so that could be the reason?

There hasn't been any train washing facilities at Golders Green for at least 15 years, used to be on 18 & 19rds.

went on one yesterday that was dirty but also had graffiti on. Surely taking graffiti off isn't included on the ban.

When the driver at Edgware (sorry, "operator") warned me of the disruption south of Kennington, I mentioned the grafitti on the side of the car. He seemed quite surprised, and muttered something I didn't quite catch... He also told me that the train was filthy due to the water restictions at Morden.

Apparently East Surrey water have rescinded their drought order, according to the local news. Cleaner 95ts then/

poor folk in my old flat in Morden, then; I used to hate being woken up on a Sunday when they put them through the washer!
