I recently uncovered an old(ish) Quail track map from 1991 that I bought when I was a kid. I noticed that amongst a few track layout changes (mainly on the Central BTW), that the Morden crossover had a different layout. Now does anyone know if this is a mistake in the map, or did Morden have a different crossover layout until the early 1990s. If the latter is the case, does anyone have any photos of it?

The layout at Morden has definitely been changed some time in the last ten years.

Would it actually be possible to extend beyond Morden? I know the 'through station' platform layout would allow this.

I have read that there was a proposal at one stage to build a new interchange station with the Tramlink at Morden Road, but that this was rejected. I wonder if there is any interchange by intrepid customers with Morden LU?

I think that one Tramlink stop [Merton Park??] is fairly close to South Wimbledon.... The tramlink passes over the Northern around there anyway...

The change was with the crossovers in the passenger throat. The 1991 map shows a trailing crossover instead of the present inner scissors crossover. Where the outer diamond crossing is, the 1991 map shows a single slip allowing inbound trains from the SB road to the centre road.
