Just wondered if anyone had any info on the two 38TS that were scrapped at Tooting Broadway after the 1971 accident. Can anyone tell me what numbers the two cars were? I downloaded a copy of the accident report, but this fails to mention the numbers, at least from what I can see. I hope that someone can answer this.

I went to the website and had a look at the report. There is something that I find odd. The report makes reference to travelling in series and parallel but the 38's didnt have these.
Overall, the website was interesting as it give a good insight into how these incidents happened and how they could have been prevented.

The report makes reference to travelling in series and parallel but the 38's didnt have these. Indeed they do have the three positions (shunt, series and parallel) as do most electric trains with automatic acceleration control.

When I saw the references to series and parallel, I thought the were referring to a 72ts.

In the report it mentions that TBY's siding is the shortest underground siding on the Northern Line. Does this make it the shortest underground siding on the network?
The last time I was down in the siding, there was a crushed sleeper at the end of the siding, the person with me mentioned that it was left after this accident, but I feel that I was having my leg pulled.
