I had a walk along the link today. It is very quick and convenient but not yet fully finished. There are also no signs on the link itself nor at Walthamstow Central to point you in the direction of the new link. One sign in the ticket hall points you to Hoe St. The signs at Queens Rd Station, on the footbridge, remain partly covered over although new signs on the new ramp are uncovered. I assume all of these minor issues will be fixed in the near future. Still it's good that it is up and working after such a long wait.

I wonder if the new link will mean that the stations will become an official interchange on the tube map rathern than just OSI Yep! Tweet by LeytonstoneLabour (@labourstone) 13/08/2014 18:46 Just met TfL Overground they already had London Overground Map with Ray Dudley Way shown connectin Central n Queens Rd Stations! Amazeballs!

Interesting that it will be shown as an official interchange when you still have to physically leave the stations in order to change between them.
I tried it today, and I agree that it is quick and convenient. It does need better signage, although I'm sure that will be dealt with in due course.

I expect LOROL will want to emphasize the connectivity between their new West Anglia routes and current Overground route. The Queen's Rd - Central link is of a similar length to other interchanges already on the tube map, Bow Road to Bow Church, Tower Hill to Gateway, and of course, Bank!
It makes sense to include <300m interchanges (which I think this one just squeezes in under) if it opens up new routing possibilities (e.g. Chingford - Barking).

I wonder if the Victoria Line will also start mentioning WQR Probably not until the link is properly signed and LOROL take over the service to Chingford. On the assumption the line will be called "Overground" then the announcements and displays in the Vic Line trains will need to be updated for Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central.

I wonder if the Victoria Line will also start mentioning WQR I doubt it. The correct place to interchange to Goblin from the Vic line is Blackhorse Road. This new link is all about changing from Goblin to the Chingford line (and bringing Queen's Road twice as close to central Walthamstow).
