I don't quite understand. Are they saying that most of the trains but not all of them will run from Canning Town-Stratford International in preparation!? Or is it just that the first train time will be later and the last train time earlier?

All that will happen is that there will be the Beckton to Stratford International services running, but not in service. If the test running goes into next week, there won't be the Woolwich Arsenal to Canning Town shuttles in the peaks, or the Beckton to Blackwall shuttles during the day.

Hey all. I'm going to Stratford on Monday 5 September. Is there any chance that the Stratford International extension will be open then?

Hey all. I'm going to Stratford on Monday 5 September. Is there any chance that the Stratford International extension will be open then? I think the general gist of the past 11 pages of discussion is that no one really knows when the line will be open. Edit: Also finally showing up on the TfL Journey Planner as opening on the 30th Aug.

Ah yes, the journey planner from the 30th is indeed showing journeys on the DLR "towards Stratford International". Interestingly though, if you put from Beckton to Stratford International it says you have to change at Canning Town. Trains not running all the way from Beckton to SI at first? Seems they're testing that scenario tomorrow, doesn't mean they'll launch with it I guess..

Morning and evening peak is Woolwich to Stratford International. All other times, including weekends it's Beckton to Stratford International.

Didn't realise that's how the service was set up. Thanks for the info!

... and that link says "in preparation for the opening", not that it is opening (not intended as a dig at londonguy).
If it opens on Monday I'll be extremely surprised.

Just took a look at the Departure Boards at Canning Town and it would appear they are testing Beckton - Abbey Road now. Edit: I just looked at the Royal Victoria Departure Board and it is showing the services to and from Abbey Road, I'm guessing this doesn't mean they are in service? Edit 2: It would appear that the Departure Boards are incorrect as they are showing Abbey Road all the way up to Stratford International (inc. Abbey Road).

If it opens on Monday I'll be extremely surprised. We would all be - the TfL journey planner is saying the first train will be at 5:22 on Tuesday morning.

Edit 2: It would appear that the Departure Boards are incorrect as they are showing Abbey Road all the way up to Stratford International (inc. Abbey Road). They are indeed running, I can see them out my window Going to wander down there (Custom House) in a minute to see what they say on the sign on the outside of the trains as they go through. It was great fun watching them switch from Woolwich Arsenal to Beckton this morning at 10:30. I think they pushed all the trains back into the depot to pretend as if they were starting from scratch, there was a train to Gallions Reach going through Custom House every 30 seconds! From what I can see they're stopping but not opening the doors. The PIDs are showing them as trains coming though I think, but can confirm that later. Yeah, the PIDs showing Abbey Road is a bit weird. They've been doing that all week even though the trains are definitely going to Stratford International (if you look at SI's PID you can see them terminating and heading back to Canning Town/Beckton). Presumably the real life PIDs are showing SI not Abbey Road.. again I will wander down there and check that in a mo! Edit: Well that's typical. Saw Abbey Road trains still on the online PID, went down there at 3:50pm and by the time I got there they'd stopped running them to Beckton and were running them to Woolwich instead. Bah! They were supposed to be running them to Beckton until 4:30pm! I wandered over to the Canning Town flyover instead and got this rubbishy picture of a train coming from the new lower Canning Town station/tracks over to Woolwich Arsenal. farm7.static.flickr.com/6197/6082467503_b80f63d556_o.jpg

Phew, got down there just before it got dark, kinda. Apologies for the terrible phone pictures. All taken from around Royal Victoria. ^^ so it looks like the online PID has a bug. It was still saying Abbey Road on my phone, PID at Royal Victoria clearly says Stratford International. They didn't have much room to fit that in did they? ^^ The trains were running showing blank external screens or "out of service" but were not honking, and were stopping at the marker boards, and waiting for the dwell time before pulling off again. Doors were not opening. Drivers were at the front at the controls. (forgotten the technical term for that) ^^ The PPI showing no entry to the existing line from the old stretch of track. White arrow for the new stretch to the new lower Canning Town station. ^^ And the train towards Beckton from SI passing over that bit of track. At least it was a train, it doesn't look like one in this picture.

Thanks for the pics lozzd But who came up with 'S'ford Internat'l'? 'intl' is an accepted abbreviation of international, so wouldn't 'Stratford Intl' be more readable for the given space?

Yeah, weird one that. Intl' makes sense to me too. No idea why they tried to cram S'ford Internat'l in.
I just counted, and STRATFORD INTL would leave a one character gap between the name and the time in the lower rows, rather than them being smushed together like it is there.

I might hazard a guess that with three potential Stratford stations on the network from next week, it might be more important to expand on the International part of the name to make it more visibly distinct from the High Street and Regional stations.
Still looks daft, but there might be a good reason for it.

It's just like 'W'wich' I'm not sure if they changed that now but that is a pathetic attempt at Woolwich.
