I've put my name down, whats the day likely to involve. ;D ;D ;D ;D I usually find out what's required before signing up for anything! Could be riding up and down all day testing the systems from a passengers' perspective or it could be scrubbing the platform edges to squeaky cleanliness!!

Sounds like a 'safety case' excercise, evacuation, emergency services etc. Something similar occured prior to the JLE opening.

Put my name down as well - after the Javelin test last Saturday free rides (and this time a £20 voucher!) seems like fun

The event has been fully booked. It seems there will be at least 61 volunteers taking part in the exercise but its been pushed back to 21 August; given the elusiveness of the opening date, that's not a surprise.
I wonder if any of the volunteers also bought a London Prepares ticket for that same day...

They also sent all volunteers a message detailing the timings for the day, anybody want it?

Is it possible to walk to where you get the bus from the end of platform 11 through public streets, I've needed to buy platform tickets before from Stratford, but never been able to get them, would rather get there that morning without fuss.

The one time I went to Stratford International, the buses were departing from outside the main entrance (well, about 2 minutes walk up the street). I don't believe it is yet possible to walk to the far side stop other than through the station.

There are stickers appearing on the Timetable posters on at least some DLR stations (well OK, I've just seem them at Mudchute but ..) saying that that there will be an amended timetable from some point in August in preparation of the introduction of the SI service.

The DLR hope to have it open by November as the first scheduled closure for engineering works is 12/13 November.

It might be a case of a grand opening, in time for the opening of Westfield .... and then various weekend closures (timed nicely for weekend Christmas shopping trips) ....

As much as I agree with you trivran, Stratford International isn't actually Westfield Stratford City's closest station. Stratford International is actually located on the north of the mall with about a 5 minute walk from the DLR Station (1-2 minutes from South Eastern Station) whereas Stratford Regional's Northern Ticket Hall is actually built into Westfield itself. The Northern Ticket Hall is finished and will open with Westfield.
So DLR won't actually use Westfield Stratford City as an excuse to hurry up.

Closest station entrance maybe, but what will the comparable walking time be from DLR Stratford Regional platforms and from DLR Stratford International platforms? I doubt that there will be much in it and like at Shepherd's Bush, I'm sure that Westfield will like public transport access at both sides of the site ready before they open.

In case I confused anyone I didn't mean that is when DLR are expecting to open it - I think it will be open by September. But if they are publicising a closure in November then they must be confident of it being operational then and I would have thought that with the problems this project has had they wouldn't be giving any public indication of it being open unless they were absolutely certain.

No, I definitely wasn't confused. But they should try open it before Westfield IMO.
