But if IIRC there is a mess room or something built on part of the platform. Is that a wooden hut?? I dunno where I got that idea from :S

Holborn platform 5 would seem to be a very good west to east reversing platform. It's right alongside the existing eastbound platform and the points are already in place. But if IIRC there is a mess room or something built on part of the platform. Er, it isn't connected to the WB.

What I am thinking of would need a little work. Connect the eastbound between Cov Gdn and Holborn with a new short tunnel, then do the same to the westbound. I have no idea of the practicalities of it though, I just drive trains through there!.

If building new underground tunnels were cheap (and didn't need to go through so many procedures) we'd have loads more by now... Crossrail for starters!
