What happens if you wish to buy a ticket which is cheaper than a cash single to your first destination which isn't sold by the machines when there is no ticket office open? Can the balance over the ticket you actually wanted be refunded?
I'm thinking of the discounted Z1-D travelcard which can be purchased with a railcard, which is a bargain at £4.80. If you were travelling to Zone 1 from another zone, the cheapest ticket which you could get from a machine would be more than this.

AAAAARGH! It's slightly freaky seeing the platforms with no cage to keep the P-way people in! I nearly dropped the handle on the way through due to surprise. Apparently it's all been taken away because somebody managed to drop a bit of a clanger the other day. Whoops! I have to say it looks much nicer without all the gubbins around. Might even open in June.

It might even open on time - you never know Gappe...
Well, I'll be going past it again this evening...

Ha, upon me going past Regent's Park every evening? I have noticed that the opening date is 'the end of June' whatever that means!

The June 2006 pocket map gives the closure dates as "June 2006 to July 2007", but the January 2007 version says "Regent's Park station is closed. For closure dates see station publicity or use contact details shown."

Well I meant a bet on when it opens.
But having just checked out the traffic circular it's changed from 'Closed til end of June' to 'Closed until further notice'.

I was having a chat and a drink with a couple of the rostered supervisors from Regents Park yesterday and they seem to think it is a matter of "a few weeks" Although whether they know any more than anyone else is moot, they have apparently been in conference with the powers that be on the subject. Mid June seems to be their opinion.

I have just been reading this from www.workersliberty.orgLooks like all has gone well! Regent's Park Refurb Submitted on 9 June, 2007 - 16:20 :: Projects and refurbs Tubeworker has reported previously that the Regent's Park refurb included the physical bricking-up of the Ticket Office. It seems that this is not the only problem with it. The planned training schedule had to be scrapped after inspections by safety reps found the site to be unsuitable for training. Then when training did go ahead, it had to be abandoned due to noise and hazards caused by the ongoing work. And station staff across the system will know how unreliable the old Regent's Park lifts were - we were forever heearing BBMS announcements about the station closing because they had failed again. Are the new lifts any better? The fact that the trainer and trainees had to be rescued from them when they stalled during training does not bode well!

A member of staff told me that the station would be open on Tuesday as I was admiring the new tiles. They look completely identical to the old ones, except that they are brighter and have no broken bits. You would hardly know that anything had happened apart from the general freshness. Metronet seem to have learned that white, white and more white does not make them popular.

So they were supposed to open today but we have posters in the stations saying there are still a couple of things not finished and that the public will be informed as soon as there is news. I heard a whisper today that metronet might be about to go under...

There was a story on the local BBC news last night about their banks cutting off new borrowing. They mentioned that Regent's Park didnt open because Metronet hasn't sorted the paperwork with the fire brigade yet (ie incompetence, not lack of money).

the ppp was an awful idea from the start bring LU management back again things seemed to happen much quicker like i never heard of 'late eginering works' or station refurbishing schemes never costed much money so metronet are to blame realy The PPP was to give long term financial investment stability, so that instead of one year LUL recieving a £100 million grant from the Government and the next only £40m. This means that the line upgrades could be done as there would be a steady flow over a number of years, rather than what happened in the past, which was plan, say a computer signalling centre to take over an entire line, but in the end they only take a 1/4 of it with the Signal Boxes still doing the rest! The PPP, along with the various PFI projects (Power/Prestige(Ticketing)/Connect/Northern Line Trains) were all farmed off this way to keep the borrowing off the Governments balance sheets! Personally I reckon that the job is a lot harder than the Infraco reckoned it would be, trying to upgrade the assetss, keep the existing ones working and the railway running! Oh, and don't just pick on Metromess- Tube Lines are just as bad, but better at sucking up to Ken, and "probably" make an absolute fortune from the ERU, Distribution and TransPlant divisons....

Yes. So they reopened at about 17.15 today - apparently the delay was about the fire plans not not being filed. Us operational staff didn't get our CSS bonuses because of these clowns. Ah well.

Just got off at the station to have a look around. The thing is, I've neve been there before, but it looked like a pretty nice - but not exactly a very special station. Since I haven't heard Tfl announce anything yet so far, I was surprised that there were quite a few people getting on and off.
