A train and a camper van have collided at a level crossing on the outskirts of Littleport. Service involved was 2H94 16:15 Cambridge to Downham Market operated by First Capital Connect. Click HERE for the news story.

Teenage drivers are a menace? Doubt it, you ALWAYS read about the elderly couple on the hard shoulder riding their mobility scooter, or taking a ride in their camper and stopping on a level crossing. On a related note, I saw a couple in their 70s driving through a red light at about 50 down the road from where I live, NOT wearing their seatbelts, the old lady in the passenger seat looked scared to death, holding on for dear life. Do feel sorry for them though, being hit by a train

Having seen the footage from the level crossing in question, the accident is bizarre. The motorhome approached the crossing, on the wrong side of the road. The train was already going through and the motorhome ran straight into the side of the train.

I'm sure RAIB will have an answer, in about 19 months time, given their usual speed of reporting.
Where have you seen footage, I'd like to have a butchers too, if I may be so privileged!

I'd be quite interested to see it too. The description above was fairly much as it was reported, so very bizarre!
