I wonder if anyone can explain where the live information comes from that indicates whether a train is on time / cancelled / etc? The reason I ask is that I often use www.journeycheck.com/lo to check Overground trains before I set out, and this morning it was indicating disruption: From Brondesbury, the 08:30 Richmond was cancelled due to a broken down train, and the next three Richmond/CJ trains were all "Delayed" with no expected time. Stratford trains were all on time. When I got to the station, however, the dot matrix screens were showing all trains on time in both directions, no cancellations, and sure enough the 08:30 (still showing as "cancelled" online) and the 08:38 westbound were running normally. Stranger still, I looked at Brondesbury's single LCD screen, and that was showing Richmond/CJ trains as on time, but big delays going towards Stratford, with some very late expected departure times for trains that had, in fact, already departed on time. So it seems that there are three seperate systems which generate their data in three different ways. Normally they're all pretty much in sync (perhaps 1 min difference in expected time, in my experience), but for some reason this morning they were all completely different. Any ideas??

Far better than what we used to have on the GOBLIN in Silverlink days, trains running half an hour late upwards were shown as 'on time' on the screens! ;D

I thought I'd resurrect this thread in the hope that someone is 'in the know' about this kind of thing and can explain it to me...
This morning, I checked live information via journeycheck and via my Android Crosscountry app (same source of info, I believe - National Rail / Thales), and both warned me that the 0805 Stratford - 0908 Clapham Junction was cancelled.
But it wasn't. And both the dot matrix and screen displays at the stations correctly showed it running on time. Even mid-way through its journey, however, it was still being reported as cancelled via NRE/Thales.
I appreciate that there's always the risk of glitches in tracking systems, but I'm still confused as to what the different sources of data are. Is there any website/source that can access the 'real' information, i.e. the stuff that the station displays show?
